ABOUT ME I am a speech language pathologist who exemplifies dedication and passion in serving families and I love working with children! I was born and raised in North Carolina and graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.A. and M.A degree. I am married with two children and love being outdoors in my free time. I have over 30 years of experience (early elementary/preschool ages) using the latest research in evaluating and treating children with a variety of speech and language disorders/delays. I have received 2 ASHA ACE Awards and co-presented at a local children's conference as a few examples of my commitment and expertise in my profession. I specialize in treating children with speech sound disorders and 'late talkers' and love early intervention!! LOCATIONS SERVED I make it easy and convenient for parents as I travel to most daycare/private schools, etc, depending on distance from my location (Weddington/George Liles/Afton/Concord Mills area). I currently serve children at STARS preschool, Providence Preschool, Smart Kids, ABC preschool, Hope Academy, Growing Faith Academy, Branch Christian Academy, Adventures Children's Academy, and many more! TELEHEALTH OPTIONS THERAPY I offer one FREE meet/greet session for anyone who wants to learn more about how telehealth therapy works! We will talk about pros/cons and IF it might be a fit for your child and family! If you choose this option, we will meet upon a mutually agreed time and frequency and target your child's goals! PARENT EDUCATION/CONSULTATION I also offer PARENT EDUCATION telehealth sessions! There is a huge shortage of speech therapists and long waitlists everywhere. I want to do more to help parents so I decided to offer these virtual visits from the convenience of your home where you will leave with: 1) Understanding of what is typical speech/language development for your child -ages 1-5. This will help you determine if your child may need to be evaluated and/or therapy. 2) Knowledge of what therapy options are available to you. CDSA/School services/IEP/private as I've done all of them so I can share pros/cons and walk you through the steps! 3) Strategies to support your child's speech and language skills at home in everyday activities based on concerns you may have. This can help you while you may be waiting on services, supplement current therapy, or just help keep your child on track! 4) Answers for questions or concerns you have.
